Don't Talk Just Listen

Don't Talk Just Listen

A Poem by MNicoleWrites
"

When I'm alone, I talk to myself

"

Don’t Talk, Just Listen

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall

Tell me I need to have it all.

Tell me I need a BBL

Tell me I need my lips to swell

Tell me I need a great phone cam

So I can post my body all over the gram.

Tell me I need a lash (or two)

Extra makeup, extra glue,

so my wig won’t shift, and move to the side

And reveal what my shame is trying to hide.

Tell me my children don’t need a dad

Because I can make money on Onlyfans.

Tell me, oh mirror,

I won’t ever have to see

What being a lookalike

may really do to me.

Tell me these things

as I look at you

But could you make sure

you don’t tell me the truth?

That I am beautifully

and wonderfully made,

Fashioned in greatness, uniquely engraved

With a plan for a business or writing a book,

That doesn’t depend on just how I look.

Don’t tell me don’t fear

Because I won’t have likes,

That I must walk by faith and not by sight!

Because then dear mirror, I will have to admit

I’m shallow and stupid,

And worth only a click.
