A lot Like You and Me

A lot Like You and Me

A Poem by Wildflower
"

Lyric, romantic poetry

"
They're floating down,
Those leaves of old
Who said that they were gold?
It's a lot like you, And a bit like me
Our songs were never sold.

We came in search of a new beginning, but...
The past got in the way
The chilly breeze blows between us
And the life we have today

Now we're lying on an old bed
Staring out, into the trees
The leaves are floating downward
They flutter distantly...

The Fall is a gentle season,
It approaches quietly;
We didn't hear it, couldn't see it
Because it's a lot like you and Me.

This is very beautiful and melancholy. Comparing the relationship to the Fall is a very interesting concept. The life is drying out and detaching from the tree. Excellent work!
