Why The Caged Bird Sings

Why The Caged Bird Sings

A Poem by Muhamad Farhany

I know why the caged bird sings
Jailed with his hopes and dreams
Sings because he calls for freedom
And prison is his farm of liberty leaves.

Leaf by leaf he every morning waters
To grow bigger as his hopes bigger are
And leave the cage to the wide skies
To breathe the liberty air breeze.

Morning, the bird was dreaming happily
To wake up suddenly and himself find
Slaughtered by the cage owner servants
And swimming calmly in his blood shed.

* MEDIA REPORTS: Forensic medical reports said that the bird had died of a heart attack this morning and he had been burried in the afternoon under the strict control by security forces.

Beautifully penned!
A bird always hopes for peace and freedom sometime, to explore the nature and let its wings flap in the air.
Well chosen topic!!

A really tragic poem. I have a very deep regard for birds and I hate them being caged and all. A really emotional and well penned one.
