Small Town GirlA Poem by Jayashree GhoshA girl's life
I am a small town girl
Who must carry on commands. I am a small town girl My life dedicated to all. They told me I am the eldest girl in the family It's my duty to marry early. I told them I want to be an artist But my wishes are like the wind They are meant to pass away... Oh I am like the rain Thousands of drops falling from the sky Each lives meant to sacrifice. Come and get lost in this world Because I am a small town girl. I must cook well I must sing well Be polite And listen to the elders Never Complain! If you are a small town girl You should also know How to happily accept the mud People would like to throw... Wipe thay tears away Be a good wife Be a good mother Give up that pleasure It's not a treasure... Your only treasure is that body Take good care of it You are small town girl Don't you know that you have to be shy and quiet! © 2015 Jayashree GhoshAuthor's Note
