I Yearn

I Yearn

A Poem by RFDIII

I wish I were a turtle,
I would never run and hide;
But keep a book
Tucked in my nook
Where I may read or ride.

I wish I were a serpent,
So I may broach your skin;
To leave punch-marks
‘Pon your embark
So you'll waste away within.

I wish I were a crane,
my soul could fly away;
Into the sun
My will be done
To burn out with old days.
