My forever Valentine

You will always be in my heart

Fidelity and loyalty are my pledge

One heart of love laid bare for you

Reverently made an altar to Love

Endowed with sanctity by your devotion

Veracity writ in your every glance

Enduring loyalty and sustaining love

Reverently offered in your gentle touch

Valentine’s Day and every day

Are ours ever and forevermore

Love plucked down from the stars

Entwining our two hearts in one

Nestling here in our embrace

Testifying God’s great gift to us

In gentle, softly whispered kisses

Nature blessed our noble hearts to

Encircle our souls united across all time

I have to agree with TL Boehm on this one. You had me for a moment, but I'm too much of a cynic I guess. Still a very good poem. Gotta try my hand at acrostic sometime. Do love the graphic.

Then, how can you feel cynical towards the sentiments in this poem. I'm a realist. I know most folks never find the depth of sacredness in my sentiments. But, I'm never cynical about the existence of such love or others' chances of growing such a love.

I read it from a past standpoint. But of current life, I do not feel cynical. It's a good poem non the less.

My own past was very unpleasant as well. I hope people will take away from my writings the assurance that there really is good in the world. And, that true and abiding love is real and tangible and something everyone can grow with wisdom and the right person.

You did the art too? Those are amazing!! The poem I thought was pretty decent. A lot of flowery language and I'm sure the sentiment is real and honest but I couldn't connect with it. Not entirely sure why.

Thank you. I'm sorry you couldn't relate to the poem. I can only say it's my own true love story between my husband and me. We've always recognized what a gift we have in each other and in having found each other; we never forget what treasure our love is and how important the work of relationship will always be. I sincerely wish for everyone that they might know the kind of love my husband and I have found and continue to grow.
