Military Coup

                         

Would a military coup

be such a rotten thing to do

to make the country great again

with tanks and planes and fearless men?

Now don’t go getting all upset

I read it on the internet

election fraud (oh, it was stolen!)

an Orange ego bruised and swollen

A common meme inside my home

says Biden is a fake, a clone.

So grab yourself a klaxon, or an arrow and a bow

whatever else you'll brandish in that post-coup afterglow

disconnect your modem and dial up your crazy bone

Donald's loose upon the land and has his eye upon the throne.

I enjoyed reading your poem. Sometimes it's good to laugh at the irony and craziness of the truth, then simply stand still and refuse it's even happening or acknowledge it. There is power in words, and this poem says so much about our country divided. Thank you for sharing.
