King David

King David

A Poem by Avery Colt

Bathed, oiled, perfumed, King David is

By lovely maidens attended and caressed,

To see him cushioned on his royal couch,

Who would know the warrior king he is,

But only see his eagle eye,

And how it gleams when girls go by.
