Today

Today

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Live your life just for today

As if it were your last

Don’t worry about tomorrow

Or live life in the past

The time will come when stars will fade

And black will be the sky

When any and all signs of life

Will forever leave your eyes

But for today cherish every smile

That you get and give

Because today your heart still beats

And for today you live

I love how you can take sayings like that and turn them into something new to highlight the true meaning of them. Your words are beautiful and flow together in a way that only comes from great talent. My greatest admiration to you and I hope that your inspiration never runs dry, for it will be a dark day for your devoted readers who are greatly inspired by your wise words and encouragement.

What a great inspriring poem. So true though, today is all we have! "If you live with one foot in the past, and one in the future. . . You wind up pissing all over the present!" Another great my friend!

An inspirational message to spread. straight forward and so true! Tomorrow is never gauranted (damn how do you spell that word?) this comes at a good time in my life as i just learned today at work that we lost a patient. He was a frequent flier at the office, lots of health issues and not all that old either.. good guy.. shame..

wonderful words my friend!

What a great poem for me to read to start off my morning! a great poem about thanks and appreciation. Perfect for our Holiday Season. I know sometimes I wallow in pity and sadness too much, so thank you for reminding me to be thankful.
