Seasons

Seasons

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

Falling farther away from
who you are
Who you were
Who you might one day be
Falling faster through the air
Without a care
That your falling farther away
From you and me
My gift to you is my everything
Who i am
Who i was
Who i could grow to be
Your gift to me is this
That in that moment of embrace
You know the true value
Of a kiss
Let me catch you
Let me show you
Let me Help you to see
That it might seem strange
Even in the cool season of change
That love can set us free

This has a sort of melancholy note to it; sad, but free. It reminds me of the lyrics of something from the All-American Rejects...The ending, 'Even in the cool season of change That love can set us free,' is a lovely ending. (: Thumbs up!

BEAUTIFUL! what a nice poem,

Let me catch you
Let me show you
Let me Help you to see
That it might seem strange
Even in the cool season of change
That love can set us free

it could almost be a song, it flows so nicely. thanks for sharing this!

Sometimes falling away from who we are is blessing in disguise. Putting away the old, bringing in the new. Letting love lead the course is a dream to some. To others, a fear.

This poem is a wonderful reflection and forecast of what has been, what could be.

In a cold season, where you contemplate the winter of your soul, may you find love.
