Claustrophobic

Claustrophobic

A Poem by Mr Whiskers

The world is getting smaller and smaller

Walls are closing in that I didnt even know existed

There is always less and less space to breathe

Less and less room to stretch my tired limbs

Shadows grow longer and deeper

Impossibly stark darkness pooling up

Door after door of layers of black night

Piling on top of each other

Always shining darker and deeper

Stretching to explore the light-kissed surfaces

Soon, I fear, my world will be no more

The shadows are crawling out to meet me

They say to tell you hello

Do you know them, are they old friends

They know you, they say

Smaller and smaller

Less and less

Darker, deeper

Shadow on shadow
