Falling

Falling

A Poem by Mr Whiskers

Please catch me, I'm falling

Maybe I'm just dreaming

And yet the impact hurts

Nothing remains as it was seeming

A blue abyss into which I drop

It seems as though it will never stop

Please hold me as I float away

But maybe now I'm flying

Do you protect me or cage me

Scream my name as I start crying

Pained tears of understanding

Sometimes truth is too demanding

Propped on pillows of dream and hope

Maybe thats where my nightmares hide

Tangled into the anguish of darkness

Darkness of night, but sometimes inside

Sometimes I wake unsure that I'm here

Sometimes I'm scared that I have no fear

Please wake me, I must be asleep

Maybe it's that simple now

And yet the edge is forever lurking

I'd love to fly, could you teach me how

The ground keeps coming to me

So if you could, please just catch me
