Would You Hate Me

Would You Hate Me

A Poem by Mr Whiskers
"

....There are some questions we never do ask.

"

Would you hate me if the Reaper invited me in?

Taking his age-old hand, stepping out and letting it end

If I were gone we'd never fight

You'd not have to yell or raise your hand

Going up, board the most final flight

Would a shadow lift up from your land?

Would you hate that I would never return

or wail that its my time to burn

If I weren't here to antagonize

your anger, would you then realize

that all I ever wanted was to love

Would you see what you're made of?

Would you hate me if I went

and took with me the heart so bent

The scars would stay but still they fade

so you might nearly forget some day

If I left you alone would you find another;

one who wouldn't bind and smother?

She who'd care and love so much better--

maybe the question is Would you let her?

But if I went I could not come back

And maybe its good to cut life some slack

If I were gone you could be free

My question though...Would you hate me?
