Wind in my hair

Wind in my hair

A Poem by Mr. Lopez

What if you knew that it was like
Having the wind in my hair?
It's a shame that no one saw the rain on my face
There were too many clouds in my head
Too many cracks in my heart
And all the while
I ignored one dream for another
I sold my gold for beans and a smile
And something that tasted like ash
The hills rolled by
While the trees shed their clothes
The stones turned their gaze from me
Or perhaps it was mine from theirs
The ground shook then opened up
The Stars dimmed
And I felt something like
The wind in my hair

Ah ha! Good imagery, although I do sense such a lonely cap off the ending there. It took me to a sad forest with nothing BUT the wind in my hair. Good read, fluent and thoughtful!
