on the run

on the run

A Story by Lily Fields

Bam! The door flung open with such force the doorknob was smashed into my wall making a hole. As I inhaled sharply, the large man took impossibly giant steps towards me. He pushed me against the wall, knocking my favorite painting off the nail. “Where.. the.. f**k is it? Do NOT play with me.” I could feel a light spray of his ashtray scented spittle landing on my face. The big hands around my throat seemed to tighten as well. “I don’t know” I barely managed to say. “Bullshit” the man said banging the back of my head into the wall. “Where?” I pretended to lose consciousness from the blow. His grasp began to loosen until he was no longer pushing my body back. I pushed off the wall and ran as fast as I could through the open apartment door, the big man on my heels.  I was out in the street, running, panting. The big man seemed to be tiring and was falling further behind me. I continued to run until I no longer could see the man. I fell under a tree gasping for breath and heart pounding. What now?

Where is what!? Don't leave us in suspense! Need. more. now. :D This was very fast paced and I think you would have been able to hold my attention for at least another two paragraphs. Thanks for sharing. Hope we see more. :)
