It's not surprising that we desire to be "the rib of him," it is like a historical, hereditary instinct as God created Eve as rib of Adam's. When we are in love and in passion, we want to be so close to our lover, almost to be joined into his body to be as one. Lucidly, I felt your fervor for your lover here.

This is a well orchestrated symphony of lines, Kelly, using the biblical backdrop of the rib to fuel its longing. I also love the lines: 'to feel the madness of the world dissipate within/the circumference of his arms' - he becomes your whole world; a biosphere of love. How wonderful it must be to be loved like this... your 'Adam' is a truly blessed man!!! :) Bravo!!

Your eye for detail never misses a thing, does it? Thank you for a most generous review, Thomas!
Hi Kelly. I loved the understated passion here. I could feel it, in the 'hoofs of a thousand steeds', in the 'circumference of his arms', and hear it the 'symmetry of his breathing'. You had no need for anything else, it pulsates with passion, and you painted it on the page. Thrilling to read!!!! alf
Ahhhhhhhhh left me breathless.. what a yearning! what a write! the perfect allusion of Adam's rib is the most befit. a poem that has it all and says it all when it comes to the love our hearts wish to embrace.
loved it!!! XX
I have to completely agree with Jaco!
This piece is marvelous in so many aspects, but
the clear cut obvious of love that is needed with another

Thank you for your blessings, Jamestown...I wish the same for you!
You express your vision of love so descriptively Kelly. To want to be so close as to feel the other person's rib and their heart beating and have such a sense of well-being is laid out in lovely terms here.
