The power of nature unleashed....it is beautiful and scary at the same time. Your choice of vocabulary is always so wonderful, my friend. Great write. Lydi**

It always enlightens me, having your presence here. Thank you, Lydi!
Although thunder and lightening can be spectacular to watch, I also find it frightening. You have captured that well here Kelly. Wonderful use of language in your lines. You took me through the storm and out the other side into the stillness and remains of the night. Your posted image is fabulous. Hope all is well with you dear Kelly.

I remember my grandmother always telling me to never shower or have my hands in water during a storm. I think the same advisory applied to talking on the phone. It feels good to still heed her advice. Thank you, Chris! Always a pleasure having you here.
There is such force in a true thunder and lightning performance - you verse it so well here that I too felt the apprehension dear Kelly - - hope by now your neck of the woods has achieved a portion of quiet......... comforting hugs meanwhile - - - from Fay

I love storms and always have... a good lightning storm will wake me up and send me running out to watch the show I am like a kid when a storm comes:) They always are a stark reminder that we are nothing in the face of nature no matter what construct we fabricate the truth is it is never lofty enough to withstand her. This feeling and portrayal in this write is electric lovely dear Kelly
You can beat an egg, but you just can't beat a bit o nature can ya.... Captured perfectly here Kelly and generously shared, this old geezer thanks you for that..
Texas has received more volumes than it can handle while, here in Virginia, we've had none. Why can't we all just have that happy medium, where all is green and light? I so long for those volumes of nature that dissipate in the still of the night. This is beautiful!

I'll take a steady rain over a torrential downpour, any day. Thank you most kindly, Linda!
I used to be petrified of thunderstorms when I was younger but grew to love them as I got older. Great ink, Kelly.

It's something my grandmother had a belief about. I enjoy the rain, immensely...and the cooling effect afterwards. Thanks, Tim!
Its the weirdest when you are at a restaurant or bar and a wicked storm takes out the electricity. its so surreal. At the house it brings on silence in everything but the storm. Kinda distorts reality like darkness does. This was super delicious, I could see it and feel it and hear it. Great description and emotive language.

We always got these intense storms in the summertime when the humidity was through the roof. Thank you for an insightful review, my friend. Always a pleasure having you here!
Throughout my life, all the way back to childhood, I've never been scared of thunderstorms or lightning. Rather, I am in complete awe of the sheer power of nature unbridled; and as usual, your post here echoes that same emotion. "In the still of the night . . . " oh, the anticipation!
