The fury of lonely nights; For- glued like tick to his hem, Charmaine found love-

A Poem by Baldwin Mupfeki

She gave it to me on my 21st;
Like a noose on shatters hanging
For by these memories,
Of so many colours-
'f so many hues they hold
Reminding of scars left,
Of what was to be
We tire of being brave!
They say strong 's pretence,
Or, "one can get o'er love"
Of mortal masks worn
For concealment of flaws,
Only to be betrayed
By our souls we torture
For truth, like wrath
Coiled, 'nd boil inside us!
But we'll go on,
GO AHEARD!
TELL CHARMAINE
I'M DOING GOOD!
But she won't let go
of the mask for
PRIDE MAKES US
ALL POWERFUL!
FOR SHE TOO KNOWS
OF FEELINGS WHICH
MAKE HER VULNERABLE;
SADNESS, HOPE,
REMORSE AND
ABOVE ALL, LOVE,
YES- LOVE!
