Morning beeps in the streets

Morning beeps in the streets

A Poem by Kate

Morning beeps in the streets

Modern life

A burden of lies

Smoke rising fast

From housewives' scars

And grapes of wine

Intertwined like bulbous alveoli

Round stalks of rich supply

Round a slim waist

On demand

Morning beeps in the streets

Look out

Greet the slush

Yawn wide

Expand the capacity

Of the lungs

Vapers laugh

For its their first puff

Neighbours shout

Short of weed plants

Noises hanged

On the road lamps

Invisible ropes

Tightening my throat

Morning beeps in the street

Hear me out or

Smell the death

Of masquerade I play

Silence bounces

Off the walls

Silence hugs

Darwin's weak soles
