Train

Train

A Poem by Kate

Two men on the train
Passengers of unknown names
Their tongues tapping
In a frenzy dance competing
Against the flashes of time
Their language rough
Harder than a rock
Suffused with the presence of God
Slicing the empty space
By "kurva" exclaimed
In each exchange
Two men on the train
Passengers of unknown names
Fritter their time away
On frivolous toiling
And road trails
Passing life in vain

It’s usually two women yakking
Good to hear two men passing the time on a train journey
