Wishing Puddle

Wishing Puddle

A Poem by Cassiopia Summers
"

I saw a puddle and it reminded me of a Wishing Well.

"
See that puddle on the ground
your wishes, there they shall be found.
You wish you may,
you wish you might.
I wish to find where my secrets lay,
even if, in the end, I shall have to pay.
This coin, here in my right hand
I will throw it in and watch it land.
The ripple effect will make me wonder,
prove to me all I feel is the hunger.
The need to know what my future holds,
should I look, should I see, fate already has me sold.
You wish you may,
you wish you might.
Today I looked into the wishing puddle,
my thoughts the images did muddle.
I saw today what nobody should,
pictures I'd erase if only I could.
You wish you may,
these thoughts you think lead far away
You wish you might,
for you must be careful what you wish tonight.

Cassiopia Summers
Today while walking in the rain, I happened to see my reflection in a puddle. This puddle made me think of a wishing well, which in turn inspired this poem about a Wishing Puddle.

Tell me what you think. (:

Careful what you wish for... no matter how many times this can be told it always rings true. Be satisfied with what you have. The poem was good, colours reminded me of a rainy day, but watch your meter. It's all over the place and throws a rock into the river that is your flow. Remember to count syllables.

:) I like the concept you used here... oh what a rainy day can produce... I sometimes wonder why people don't like them so much. If something like this can come from one, I'll wish for rain as much as possible. Great write. :)

Nice twist on a wishing well and well done. Great picture to accompany it as well. 3 wells all in one comment. Or is that 4. Ha

The rhyme totally suit the poem and drag the reader into it straight away. I noticed some fonts in blue ad some in black. The colour has made it easier for me to visualise the puddle. You have used powerful words to make the puddle look myterious. It was a pleasure to read
