Regret.

Regret.

A Poem by Em North

Regret.

with a pain stricken look and tears on his face

he whimpered a goodbye and sulked back to his place

as he wound down the streets and twisted past bends

his heart's sweet faint beat seemed off beat and broken

with no-one to mend

the whispers of wind were tickling his ears

but somehow their distractions were not enough

to save him from the sorrows of loss after that many years

at this he thought and thought to himself,

"come on now, things happen and you've got to be tough"

he loved her dearly that much he knew

but he could not explain, no he could not get through

try as he may to forget her face

his attempts were formidable as a cold disgrace

her lips her eyes her sweet taste

the way she wouldnt let time go to waste

her spunky and stubborn personality

he wished that things could be as they use to be

but he'd ruined that he knew it and regreted it too

but in his situation what was he suppose to do?

he'd seen another across the room

he'd had to have her she was an early bloom

the way her legs stretched high without making haste

she was a true beauty, unworthy of waste.

he could not resist that glowing bronze tan

she'd said she needed him, needed a real man

by morning she was gone and he was lost

knew he'd done wrong and would now pay the cost

telling his love the things he had done

though he tried not to he cried and begged his loved one

he knew when he saw her heart break in two

he'd never have that same place, never loved through and through

her tears were torture to watch roll down here sweet skin

her scent drifted in his mind as if to torment  and guilt him

and so on that day with a cold sorry face

a man walked away full of disgust and hate

hate his lust for that woman in lace

disgust of his actions and the pain he’d caused of late

so he had wimpered goodbye but had wished to speak more

'i still love her' he thought ‘i will miss her, and regret this forever'

and at his realization he felt his heart as it tore

to think he would not see her, not again, never

he walked home to his place his broken heart walking the bends

crying his pains with no way to mend.

Great job! You can really tell a story with your poems. It's almost like prose.
