Death is Bittersweet

Death is Bittersweet

This may be

The last time I see you

This may be

The last time I hug you

This may be

The last time I tell you 'I love you,'

So even though you hate it

I will say goodbye

I will tell you I love you

I will hug you

Because the days are numbered

Until we are forced to part

Who knows what the day might hold

For all of us

You might be here this morning

And tonight I find you're gone

One minute you're here

The next you're under a bus

So hold me tighter

Breathe out

So I can breathe you in

Tell me you love me

Because death is a bittersweet end

It is a blessing

It is a curse

It is a crossroad

It is a new life

It is a warm friend, its arms always out for a hug

It is an enemy, awaiting its time to strike

It is a caring mother, keeping you close

It is an abusive father, drunk on new booze

But most of all,

It is a force of nature

And now I know

I'll do it again

If only it reassures me

The last words I say

Aren't what pulls us apart

What a wonderful body of work you have created. Such emotion pouring through your words. The last words of love sometimes may be the ones we remember most.

Your words speak a deep truth... life is fragile that is why we need to makes sure we let loved ones know how we feel every time we can.
