The Second Act

The Second Act

A Poem by Sean

Lost in a void

Without any reason

Another face caught in the crowd

Don’t blame the sky

Can you really tell what life is?

Live like a shadow

These streets run cold with the night

A black shell of a man taking stepping toward light

When even the stars bleed for hope

Trying so hard to make that empty sky home

The smoking gun

The open wound

A second act never finished.  Alone.

Fading out in mid performance

And what of the girl?

What will become of her?

The color stages, broken lights in eyes’ view

Gravity can burn you down

In your belief , you’ll never see

The fire that burns behind dark eyes

Tempting…you’ll believe all the lies

The feeling of it falling apart

Makes you breathe faster

The vision, imperfect

The timing, unmatched

Can’t you feel the sun rising

A warmth unknown to the night

Hard and cold like your soul
