HUMAN CLOCK

HUMAN CLOCK

A Poem by M.Babu
"

The clock is ticking...

"

HUMAN CLOCK

You started as the second hand,

Meek and excited!

Life obliging all your wishes,

Devoid of all

Worldly wicked.

You ticked with certain vigor,

Wishing you’d grow taller.

You wanted responsibility,

To count life by the hour

Minute hand you became.

But alas you aged too.

The more wisdom you possessed,

The more struggles pursued.

Trying to hinder your life’s dream,

Of becoming a time sage.

Your life’s secret aspired purpose,

To count life by the day.

Hour hand you were christened,

When you were more archaic.

Slow but sure revolutions,

With more patience to wait.

Wisdom accrued in bundles,

You now had Life by the handles.

And your final little job;

To train seconds and

their minutes.

Served as a timely tool to

Pass on your reminiscence.

This is an awesome piece! Quite thought provoking as well. The relationship between each 'hand' and the tests that they must endure. Its very well-interpreted indeed. I love the concept and you are a fantastic poet. Keep this up my friend, you've got talent! :)

Time is a tyrant to us all, each tick of those tired arms, brings trials and fate closer, every moment of every day, it seems! A perfect poem love! xx

You are the second hand, meek and excited! You become wiser and go higher and actually slower...lovely concept, executed in an excellent way. Love the words used, rhythm. Lovely.

Strange how time alters both humans and its own seasons, altering feelings and thoughts, actions and all. Seems as if you're juggling with thoughts here, guess you're using one idea to express another .. metaphors into play, character changing through life.

Some fine thoughtful phrases, for example,'Trying to hinder your life’s dream, ~ Of becoming a time sage.'

I like the relationship and the emotion you related to each piece of the clock. I also appreciated how you described life as time goes on, the struggles, the excitement, the realization that there's has to be something for yourself. Very interesting and great topic!!!

"Your life’s secret aspired purpose,
To count life by the day."
When we learn the value of time and life. We become wise.
"With more patience to wait.
Wisdom accrued in bundles,"
A outstanding poem. Thank you.

"Devoid of all
Worldly wicked."
worldly wickedness?

i think you could improve
"Your life’s secret aspired purpose," it's a bit too abstruse, i couldnt figure out what that meant...hiding ciphers in our poetry now, are we? :D

great metaphor, life and the clock. from the eager, enthusiasm of youth as the second hand to the measured, steady sagacity of the hour hand...astute!im getting used to great work from u now, and each piece sets that bar higher! great work bro!
