Crushed By The Songbird of Love

Crushed By The Songbird of Love

A Poem by Sherwin

Its seems like just yesterday you told me you loved me
How long has it been my love?
Much too long for us to be held apart like this

Hold me I'm crying
Oh dear just love me
Let me love you
For I can't bare to see you so far

I look at you from afar
Two well earned trips
Oh my lady, when will you be back
Oh when will you call my lover
When?

Your name so sweet like a turtledove
Like a beautiful Hummingbird
Like a sweet smelling rose
Like the Lilly of the Valleys

Your love courses through my veins
Crushed from a love song bird
Only because you are so hesitant -- yet so curious
So subconscious

It subdues me
I can find no other
