Not Today

Not Today

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

Go ahead,

Get mad,

But put your hand down.

You won’t,

Not today,

Smack me around.

I’m tired,

Enough,

I won’t live with a frown.

Sit,

My turn,

Don’t make a sound.

Too much,

Too long,

No more rounds.

I’m standing,

I’m leaving,

I’ll never be found.

Outstanding work Mysty -- truly. No one should have to endure
this -- ever. I feel very passionately about this subject, and could
go on for hours, but I think you've said it well in a few short lines.

"Too much,

Too long,

No more rounds.

I'm standing,

I'm leaving,.."

Bravo girl!

A powerful message. I only wish more women could stand and leave without paying the ultimate price. I lost a very dear friend to a stalker back in the day when stalking laws did not exist. She tried to stand her ground but was murdered by a coward who took his own life after taking hers in down town Santa Fe. Thank you for writing about such an important subject.
