I Stay

I Stay

A Poem by Mysty Rayn

You hurt me again and again.

Yet, I stay…

Drowning in a pool of confusion.

Lost in a forest of fear.

Strangled by the ropes of loneliness.

Fused by the ice of insecurity.

Crushed by the weight of your destruction.

You have destroyed all that I once was.

So, I stay…

This could have been my theme song at a much earlier stage of my life. You describe the claustrophobia of a bad, bad relationship and the inertia of the "victim". Overcoming the inertia and refusing to be a victim, finding our strength and loving ourselves as is - that's the next step. Or it was for me. Thanks for posting this.
