Breathin Apart

Breathin Apart

A Poem by mikael owusu
"

A death row note

"
"BREATHING APART"
They will come tonight,
To take my heart and my mind.
So this will be my last words.
I'll need medication
I hope you're still alive
Hope you're blissful as the skies,
Me, i lost my way
That's how come I'm here today.
And their jeering cry,
And tentacles of darkness climb
To snuff my light.
Closing my eyes to lie with the lonely ones.
I hear their boots of death this way walk.
Now creeps uneasy silence.
Manacled feet,
Manacled hands,
A free soul,
To be manacled yet!
Poor me,
I ne'er should've killed a man,
The executor injects me,
I am rooted to the spot, deaths chair.
I feel overpowering blackness.
It spreads and grips everthing.
My outstretched fingers mark the end.
I see my false tormentor,
Ready to torment!
