An Eternal Internal WinterA Poem by N.SevillaA person who falls in love with a girl who can't seem to let go of her sadness. Help her and risk her "flying away" or leave her chained by the sadness as long as she stays?
I looked up to the graying sky
and down you fell. One of Heaven's angels, I could tell. The first snowflake had touched the ground, and to the earth she touched she became bound. An eternal internal winter you grieve. Is it selfish to say I'm glad you can't leave? The sun spun gold and clouds painted skies. Yet none could take the dullness from your unseeing eyes. The winter kept coming and harsh winds would blow. Dear Angel, what haunting will you not let go? An eternal internal winter you grieve. Is it selfish to say I'm glad you can't leave? Time drips like golden honey when I stand by your side. Not even the once lightning Time do you confide? Earthbound Angel, it's much too cold to fly. You won't let warmth in, though you've forgotten why. An eternal internal winter you grieve. Is it selfish to say I'm glad you can't leave? What I would give for our growing love to scar Time and the sunrise of your smile to block the sun at its prime. A current internal winter you grieve. Is it selfish to say I won't ever leave?
