Emotionless Screams

Emotionless Screams

A Poem by N.Sevilla

Imagine feeling nothing.

No pain, joy, or fear.

Imagine you cannot feel love

For those you hold dear.

Now imagine being scared

But unable to feel the scare.

The confusion of a shivering calm mind

Becomes more than you can bear.

Imagine staring at the wall,

Always screaming inside.

Begging tears of pain to rise

From where ever they hide.

It's like watching yourself

Beaten and treated like dirt:

While you watch you

Know you should feel that hurt.

That knife stabbing over and over

With that bloody gleam.

And you wonder why there is

No painful scream.

This is what I am.

This is what I feel.

This is why I wonder

Whether emotion was every real.
