Let's Play a Game Together

Let's Play a Game Together

A Poem by Kiwi
"

A BCD poem about growing up and the transition from friendship to possibly something more.

"

Wrote this poem for BCD.  Just a short random one.  I like the voice in it, though.  It can be read in many different ways, I suppose.  I careful not to include gender.  I still feel somewhat of a female-female presence but I don't know if I'm just projecting.  It could be seen as malicious and sweet.  Let me know how you read it!

Let’s play a game together.

I say jump and you say

“How high?”

The ground you push away

To soar towards the sky,

And leave me a speck in the grass.

Let’s play a game together.

I say hide and you say

“For how long?”

You hide in the flowers of May

And hum a summery song,

As I rummage through locks of Earth’s hair.

Let’s play a game together.

I say run and you say

“How far?”

You halt at the beds of ruby clay

And admire your dash to afar,

As I follow your tracks in the mud.

Let’s play a game together.

I say kiss me and you say

“How hard?”

You think it’s an exciting game to play

And let fall all your guard,

While your face inches closer to mine.
