Poison

Poison

A Poem by Nancy

Savor it
Slowly take it
The poison that
Surely kills

Enjoy the time
You have
While you can

This love
That brings you together
Will ultimately
Bring death

Slowly your
Soul fades
Until all you have
Is emptiness

Bitterness
Taste it
As it overtakes
Everything

Dark consumes
The light
Alls’ left
Is darkness

Slowly
You fade
To nothing

. yeah ... happens to the best of us ... and then suddenly ... for everything we've lost ... we gain the light of friends ... truly worthy friends ... very intensely moving writing ...
