From the Beholder

From the Beholder

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

I was of three minds

One, the beauty of inflections

Two, the hunt for mystery

Three, the indecipherable cause

These were just my belongings

The imagined golden birds?

The loving songs that would

Not rest in my heart

An immense dew of seeking

That would not rest

No matter how much I tried

To live a normal life

I was of three hearts

Receptive, aggressive and mystical

These were the water, flames and flakes

Of my material of mind

I was a drop of ether

Left to color the lightning

As the light meets

A young alligators in the eyes.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
