If Glory Could Last Forever

If Glory Could Last Forever

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

Rose, watches over me as

The valley where lovers were traced

I do not need to go back there

Blue, are the horses that carry me

Into the deep sky befriended

The stars, who are my keeper

I wish to incarnate there

Into mental spirit powers

Green, is the body of my biology

An estrangement of a hundred desires

They surge in me, for you

Your hips and lips that sing

Gold, is the morning of my shifting change

My broken bundle of loving mirrors

That will not perceive any of you

As you are, though how could it be?

Red, is the entrance into the world

And her return from which

There is no defense, only a comfort

Of repetition, that isn’t truly

Comfortable of all

White, is the last stand

Where I-love-you must be traded away

For higher better things.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
