Warbling in the Jungle of Beautiful History

Warbling in the Jungle of Beautiful History

A Poem by Nao Deguchi

I have lived a hungry dance

A meditation of tablets and inscriptions

Encapsulated by Dürer and Blake

Klimt and Kandinsky broke me lose

Whoever got to found

A state that was free?

But the Taoists & Rishis

With bronze outstretched neutrality

They did not care to name

Their whirling compassionate Sufism

But art and mysticism

They, could only be taken so far

There is no lordly language

To take me back home.

About
I will go to great lengths to encourage writers of Asian origin. Of these, Indian are my favorite. They have a beauty of sentiment that is not replicated in english. I do not like to leave a trace.. more..
