Answered Prayer

I wrote this poem right after the Lord had so mercifully and generously answered a very urgent prayer need which I'd had for a long time--what a great privilege it is to be one of His children!

With joy and gratefulness

O Lord, I’m overflowing,

Overwhelmed by the vastness

Of the love that You show me.

For when I pray for healing

And grace to trust in You,

Your strength and power surround me

Your Spirit guides me through.

What faithfulness! What mercy!

You always hear my sighing,

And though I’m so small, You answer all

My prayers in Your perfect timing.

Amazed, I stand before You,

And praise You with all my soul,

So thankful for Your unfailing love

That answers my cries and makes me whole.

How assuring to know

You infinitely care

About each part of my life, and

You’re forever there!
