Hell in Heavenly Light

Hell in Heavenly Light

A Poem by Nath
"

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning!

"

The morning star lost his place in the sky

He was cast down from the heavens high

Condemned to eternally endure the absence of light

In the remote depths of the land of everlasting night.

When he waged his unholy war in heaven

Driven by pride, a sin of the deadly seven,

He challenged a mighty force, couldn’t compete,

Meeting resistance he had not expected to meet,

So when he tried, he suffered a defeat

Which was utter, final, and complete.

He’d waged a war he just couldn’t win

So they charged him for his deadly sin.

He had raised hell in heaven, he’d raised hell.

Fighting furiously for freedom, he warred well,

But still he was defeated, damned and fell:

As punishment for his pride, he was expelled.

Eternal damnation was their sentence

Hoping it would lead him to repentance

But it did not, he did retain his pride

When he went over to the dark side.

So forever was the proud one banned,

Banished from heaven, he was damned;

They ostracized the eternally condemned

And into the abyss of hell he was sent.

He found the pits dire, dull and dark

As the place was sinister and stark

Hell was not alight with fire then

Before he brought it to this darkest den

To kindle the flames with his celestial spark.

Now find the once sinister place

Illuminated by the infernal blaze

Of the inferno so blindingly bright

Lit by the flame that he fell to ignite.

The light that was his claim to fame

He never lost that, brought his flame

With him and, living up to his name,

As with the sky, he lit up hell all the same.

There’s no reason to fear hell’s fiery pit

For its warm embers have been kindly lit

By him who made the darkness bright

By making hell shine in heavenly light.

I think this is the longest something I've ever finished, and the first poem I've published in a while.

I love, love, love it! I think it is one of your best and it went straight to my library under favourites!
I think you have really shed such a beautiful light on what so many people think of as the most awful thing that could happen to them after dying. I am a spiritual person and I dont believe that if there is a God that he would banish people to hell the way people make it out to be. In the end, Lucifer takes care of those who have died as well, those whose decisions might not have been so great in life and I think you have done a great job of showing the other side to this. I could go on forever about this subject but I might end up saying something that could cause a lot of debate on your page so I'm going to end it here.

Thank you sharing this excellence!!
