Providing an alternative to using the term 'Spend time'.

"

Whilst thinkin about time,

I asked myself, y…

y do we say we spend it?

That implies that something

positive, negative or in the mid

has left us, parted from us,

or been given away;

Maybe it didn’t escape,

without our knowing,

still,

its gone as we kept on going.

 

But,

However…

how about this…

 

Y not say we gained time,

and replace spend with this?

Think for a second,

u’ve been out & about with

colleagues, family, friends,

 & it may depend

on where ur heading & for what,

but instead of spending time you gained it;

Instead of the notion that something,

a moment, a laugh,

a smile, a cry

a feeling of sorrow inside,

a look of amazement in 2 eyes

has been spent , and as such, exited

y not look @ what u gained from it?

 

A positive experience’ll add a bit more life

2 ur years;

That’s what they say laughter does, & its peers.

If you have a bad for whatever reason,

u’d have gained more knowledge of ur likes & dislikes;

that’s a given.

& shud it have been somewhere in between,

well I’d like 2 hope u gained the ability

to gauge what works & what doesn’t,

for ur being.

 

Maybe it’s trivial,

this matter menial

and insignificant,

but it crossed my mind,

& to be basic, I couldn’t shake it.

& in this time, I have gained

release.

Release on this thought that has been on

repeat.

 

& its my hope u didn’t spend,

but time was gained

here with me.

Again,

I hope you didn’t spend,

but time was gained

with me.
