Lucy

Lucy

A Poem by NGenieL

Diamonds in the sky for Lucy,
silver splatters pepper her vision,
her friends are rotating on grass pedestals,
praising Diamonds and Lucy herself.
She's new at school and shy,
a few problems but a good girl,
She's all manners and regulation and virgin
Until The Gang decide to test her waters.
and BANG! She's a rocketship,
Soaring into hew own soul and ignoring the cold winds,
Marvelling at starlight and fairy dust and her cream feathered wings.
She's a hurricane, blasting icy daggers into morning minds,
Never stopping except for a smoke.
Her mother's worried she'll catch a chill,
But onward she flies!
Perhaps she'll lose balance on her journey
and catapult into a ditch like The Gang,
She's already losing her nerve and sobbing silver tears.
Silver streaks, silver skies,
Heart of Solid Bronze.
Diamonds are heavy rock,
They reflect the light of her Golden-tinted eyes.
