I Shall Not

I Shall Not

A Poem by CoveredInLies
"

I find that way too often I am pressuured to be someone I am not. From the color of my hair to how loud I am or how I speak. It is not anyones choice but mine. I ask for the same respect I give out.

"
I shall not be the machine you want
Nor will I be the liar for cover

I shall not be whom you desire
For I am not one who is easily molded

I cannot be the person you crave
I won't ever be who I am not

I shall not force you to change for me
I accept you for everything you are

I shall not judge you on your mistakes and regrets
Only on how they have impacted how you live

One cannot change themselves for another
Until they want the change first.
