My path

My path

A Poem by CoveredInLies

So I begin
My path to serenity
Alone and unforgiving
My mind searching for peace

My past
A thick fog
Laying densely across my way
Tempting me to turn back

I trudge forward
Eyes closed tightly
Hands over my ears
As they whisper to me

You've done wrong
You are bad
You will never be forgiven
You can not be forgiven.

I continue on my path
With tear streaked cheeks
and hair disheveled
I will survive.

you will survive, you are exactly the age you are supposed to be, and might I add a brilliant young poet . . . your instincts are spot on
