The Artist

The Artist

A Poem by Neville
"

If I try to describe it, I think I would probably spoil it

"

'The Artist'

Placing his left thumb

Into the small hole and

Mixing yellow ochre

With Parisian green

The escaper attempts to paint

His canvas dream

For seven nights

His brush caressed her face

An entire month of tired eyes

Could not capture her

A whole decade later though

An old easel hugs a dusty canvas still

Did he really lose his mind to her

?

If you need to ask the question, then I assure you, you are probably as nutty as an explosion in a snickers factory Neville.
But fear not, I have discovered a 100% effective cure that will banish the constant thought of her spoiling your weetabix forever more.... It all goes away instantly on death.
What? Well what did you expect from the guy in the bouncy room two down from your own?
She messed me up so bad man, that I keep thinking Donald Trump is president ffs!
The so called sane can have this world, i'll just go live on a farm in the countryside with all the other neon green invisible penguins. :)

What a powerfully stunning mix of soul and colors on the canvas. There is something that an artist pours into a painting that is so much more than brush strokes... and it is left there forever. This artist's story sings a melancholy song for us all.

An artist trying to capture his love on canvas can't do it to his own satisfaction. It sounds as though the canvas wasn't completely finished and a decade later it remains on the easel. This reader thinks he certainly could have lost his mind to her. Love does that doesn't it? Great imagery in your words. Good morning Neville.

Bless you Pat & wow, I am truly delighted that you might think so.... All Good Things, Neville
Her beauty so that he could not replicate it onto his canvas despite his industrious efforts and this drove him insane !

An interesting, creative short write Neville!

Chuffed to bits my old mate and that is to put it mildly. N
An eloquent and thoughtful verse on the kind of love poems (and paintings) were created for in the first place.
