It's tough for a guy to tell his Dad he loves him, without said dad getting all cynical and wondering how much you want, or that might just have been mine.
We never do it often enough and it's such a shame when you realise too late that time has passed.
Good job on rearranging the backwards upside down words. I once found a photo frame where the glass had the ghost of a poem on it from being cupboard buddies so long. Alas, it was too smudged to make any sense, so I'm pretty sure I wroteit 😀

It's the little things we miss the most when someone has gone. It's the little things that get done that we often don't see. That we take for granted. You reminded me of my Grandad who would polish my school shoes until I could see my face in them. He enjoyed doing it and would put such effort into it. I'm not sure I thanked him enough.

So this is about parents being unable to appreciate their child, or someone who died, or a handyman who moved on (or who was no longer available due to the pandemic). It really doesn't matter as this is a nice poem either way.
