When I am Done

When I am Done

A Poem by Neville

When I am Done

When I am done

What

Shall I miss most

I wonder

Maybe blue sky

And sea

Green grass and

Yellow sun

Your lips on mine

Who knows

Perhaps

Not to mention

Gentle hugs

Being

Called dad

Being a brother

A partner and

Friend

A husband and

Lover

Hey, did I ever

Mention those

Fingertips ..

Oh’ yeah

So I did, but on

A different page

Entirely ..

Just maybe

Somewhere tween

Blue sky and sea ...

It's interesting that your poem assumes a dead person will be capable of feeling anything. I'm with Chris. I think it'll be a whole bunch of nothing forevermore while those remaining easily & quickly forget I ever existed. But it's always fun to pretend that we matter more than we omnipotent humans do *wink! wink!* fondly, Margie

Hello, Neville! :)
This poem was striking what struck me most was the punctuation as I was reading it I kept thinking how much easier it would be if there were punctuation; and bang, there it was. Haha

you might just miss all of these equally...
I am at that point that these thoughts occur to me now.

I would miss so much, mostly friends and the simple but rewarding life I feel I have been lucky to have.

When I am done, I hope I miss no one. and nothing else which I love in life. A state of nothingness will suit me well. You have written a really thought provoking piece here Neville.

Yes when the end comes those are the things in life we will miss Nev - nature's glory and love's rewards - a lovely list of unforgettables - thanks for the depth of this needed reminder to enjoy every moment while we can.....................x

thank you my friend .. a most welcome visit and such kind words too :)
In my personal belief when life is over we will be peaceful and content in Heaven or whatever afterlife you believe in.

This is an deep thinking thoughtful poem about wondering. This poem has made me think deeply and ponder how or what I might feel when life moves into a new dimension.
