Upon a time once

my word how we loved

Aye, didn’t we just ..

 

With never a thought for those

moments we lost

Nor for gratuitous lust ..

 

Upon a time once

my word how we loved

Though with never

a thought for the

consequences of such

 

Whether borrowed or lent, 

to us, in that moment 

it was all time well spent ..

So tender and kind... dear Neville. I remember now... I did have "one" "upon a time once" in tenth grade, when the 'heart throb' in our Class took me on a date to Sligo Creek Park where a Creek ran through... It was getting dark and he parked in the Woods by the Creek. He coaxed me into the back seat. He was like Thumper the Rabbit... and I was fully dressed. My first introduction to Love (like in the Movie "Grease") I realized later in my twenties.
I would not put this in a poem. truly, my pleasure to share in my thanking you for making me Smile. gently, Pat
