interesting parallel Nev! medical/biological/genetic sciences have come a long way haven't they?! yet mystery remains eh!? One thing is certain tho ... we sure know where covid 19 came from... and more and more (circumstantially speaking) it seems it was not from Nature's bats living a thousand miles from Wuhan. for so few lines your poem speaks a lot to me... "... origins of corruption" indeed!!
