Looking Forward to Change

 

I never once thought

for a moment

I would ever be forced

to admit that

both life and love are

such fragile,

and transient things ..

Like flakes

in a snow globe, spilt,

scattered

and broken ..

Yet I hope now more

than ever ..

She is proper grown

and no longer

the same spoilt child

that she was

all those years ago ..

When we met

for that very first time ..

I have my fingers crossed for you on this one. I'm hoping along with you on that. But truth be told I've never been good at reading a woman's heart very well and their intentions. Sometimes you just have to trust your gut and run lol. A compelling poem Neville.

I had a premature evacuation, aged 16, whilst being slow danced, writhed against, at a local disco by the local bicycle who had a body to die for. Chinos and a growing stain not a good look.
This made me chuckle Neville.

I love snow globes and the imagery of their snowflakes being chaotic and eventually settling down. Youth can be like that too. Yes, some can be spoiled and selfish, but time can can make a difference. Love and life are indeed fragile, transient too. It takes a grown up to understand that fully. Wisdom comes with age Neville. I like where my mind wandered with your words.

This is very touching, poignant in love gone awry but mitigated, beautified, by compassion, forgiveness and genuine wish for well being for the ex lover.
