Dreams

Dreams

A Poem by Victor

These dreams consume my waking eyes
while they look for ways to create new ties
I shut them tight thinking I'm so wise
Yet I fall apart, finding truth in lies.
These constant thoughts keep giving rise
To the most likely source of my demise
The fantasies, they just sound like cries
The reality, my heart shrinks in size.
These dreams I have are nightmares, but alone still I sit
Hoping I can fall back into the dream where you and I should fit.
