cigarrete

cigarrete

A Poem by Ngawang Tibet

I lit a cigarrete, i smoked.

Why I did that, I don’t know.

I wasn’t sure I had reason to smoke,

But eventually I was into her.

One after another puff, feeling it,

Feeling of love came up to a point,

Where I was really lost myself.

“Smoking kills” never so real,

She was completely with me all the time,

she was ruining my trust and love.

But she was the only my companion,

Whenever I need to speak my heart,

She was there for me, day and night.

How could I abandon her?

Addiction is often a companion of choice when trust in oneself or others has dissipated. We may realise it is harmful but we draw from it a pleasure that in the moment we need for reassurance or simply satisfaction.Interesting piece written in the first person hung on the peg of a free verse that is easy to read.

Cigarettes, a pleasure. Can relax us. I like the cigars myself. A hard topic, I am old school. I believe death comes at us when she wants. My brother fought cancer three times. Now he smoke his cigarettes and he told me. My bad habits didn't kill me. Born with the cancer. Thank you Ngawang for sharing the amazing poetry. You made the reader think.
